During the Femaissance, women across the country dedicated themselves to science and technology, leading the Founding Mothers of Techno-Nationalist movement to overthrow the scraps of the American Empire and usher in 25 years of prosperity and advancement…for the most part. The founding mothers are an alliance of mega-corp founders and executives operating out of the nation’s new capitol, Silicon Valley. They have divided the states not bombed into oblivion into territories, each governed by a mega-corp under a founding mother’s control. Neon City, formerly known as Baltimore prior to the second Civil War, is governed by Heritage, a virtual reality pharma giant in control of all resources for the people of Neon City.

It should be mentioned that the first order by the Founding Mothers in 2075 was to enact Project Genie, a genetics program that has allowed for ciswomen to reproduce without sperm.
